Newborns

**I have recently switched to doing newborn photography at my home studio (my front room).  I have a ton of stuff and setting up beforehand and cleaning up afterwards was taking a REALLY long time.  You don't need me in your home that long.***

If you are visiting this page, CONGRATULATIONS!   I am so excited for you and your impending arrival.  I have four children and each one has been welcomed and loved.  I find no greater joy than being a mother (although photography is a close second). Not sure what to expect?  Upon booking, I will send you an email with detailed information about how to prepare.  In the meantime, there are a few things you should know!

1.  The session will take 2-4 hours depending upon how sleepy the baby is.  We have plenty of time.  Don't worry if it takes a while (because I won't worry).

2.  I prefer doing shots that showcase your baby instead of props.  Many times that means having an undiapered baby and I expect things to get "messy."  Don't worry about that either.  If you would prefer your baby clothed, have him/her in a white onesie (I do have a little romper for the girls and a pant set for the boys if you'd like to use them).  Please view the newborns on my blog so you can get a good feel for my style.

3.  A newborn session works best when the baby is 10 days old or younger.  They are bendy and sleepy and easy to pose.  Call me to book a tentative date based upon your due date and then once the baby is born we'll firm things up.  If you're anything like me, having your picture taken when you're on barely-functioning mode seems daunting.  If you're not up to being in the pictures, don't worry about it.  Let's just make sure that we get your sweet baby's picture taken (although you might want those photos later, so we can do them and I'll leave it up to you whether or not you want to post them on facebook or anything).

I look forward to meeting you!  Newborns are my
