weddings

Weddings begin at $700 and include the engagement or bridal session.

"Wow!  That's fabulous!" You're thinking.  "Let me book you right away!"  Which, let's be honest, really is fabulous.  But before you hire me, I want to share a little personal story about my own wedding.  I married my husband in August of 2000.  I had just turned 20 a few months before.  I was a busy college student and spent that summer in Spain in a study abroad AWAY from my husband.  I didn't give much thought to the wedding...I just wanted to be married and be with him forever.  To me, the marriage was more important than the wedding.  I have always been extremely frugal, so when it came to the wedding, I made the cheapest plans I could.  My mom intervened several times and  pointed me in the "right direction" and we had a beautiful reception that was much more than I ever could have anticipated.

One place my mom didn't intervene, however, was the PHOTOGRAPHY.  I literally found the cheapest guy I could.  I didn't even look at his portfolio.  I did not understand that photography is about so much more than just clicking a button on the camera.  I envisioned beautiful candid shots that really showcased our relationship.  Instead, I got a bunch of posed, staged photos.  Don't get me wrong, the photos were technically great and now that I look at them nearly 13 years later, I'm impressed with the quality.  They simply lack the feeling I was hoping he would capture on that day.

That being said, I learned that you get what you pay for with wedding photography.  If you hire a photographer that charges $2,000, you are paying for much more than their time on your day.  You are paying for years and years of experience and the many thousands of dollars worth of equipment that many photographers are still paying for.  That experience is priceless.  I STRONGLY encourage you, however, to look through their portfolio and make sure that the pictures you see are ones that you would like to see in your albums.  Just because a photographer charges more doesn't necessarily mean that their style matches your vision.  SOOOO....what I'm saying is this:  I would LOVE to  photograph your wedding. I promise to do my best to capture all of the "required" shots and also the emotion of that day.  AND I will rent a professional lens so the quality will be on par with the seasoned photographers.

One day I will charge premium prices, but I don't feel that is fair to YOU my prospective client to do so until I have more experience at weddings.  I plan to do my first 5 weddings starting at $700 (more for travel outside of 2 hours of Kingsport).  That includes either a free Bridal session or a free Engagement session.  If you would like to hire a second shooter, you may do so at an additional cost of $200.  In the meantime, I'm so glad that you came to this page!  Be sure to check out the labels on the right side of my blog so you can see my photos (look at couples, weddings, and bridal to get a good idea of what to expect for your wedding).  While I haven't shot many weddings, you can get a good idea of my style.  If you're interested, please call me!

**As of December 2013 I have already booked 3 weddings at this price.  That means that there are only two more available**
